Program 3 and helper roles

Week 3 has arrived which means Program 3 and hopefully some warmer weather ๐Ÿฅถ. The long-range forecast suggests a balmy 26 degrees for Saturday ๐Ÿ˜Š. Perfect weather for sprint hurdles!! Program 3 is provided below.

This week we will return to a centre warm up again for our U8+ athletes commencing 8:30 am SHARP. Following their warm-up, our athletes will move on to their first events. Our U6 and U7 athletes will meet in the designated ON-TRACK area at the back straight at 8:30 am.

Parent helper roles for returning families:
Now that most returning families have refamiliarized themselves with the programs and parent help roles, we are putting a final call out to sign up for a role on at least one of our three programs. Our club and children rely on your help to run our programs. Parent help is not optional. For those that have not signed up to a role by 5pm tomorrow (Wednesday), one will be allocated to you by Friday.

From this week, all families will be required to visit our information desk at the main entrance on arrival to confirm they have been allocated a role. If not, one will be allocated to you. Those families that have been assigned a Week 3 role will need to sign in and collect their red โ€˜helperโ€™ vest from this desk.

Parent helper roles for new families:
We appreciate new families may not be familiar with our helper roles and may have some hesitation in signing up. We get it. If this is you, please visit the information desk on arrival this Saturday and we will talk you through the roles and what your preferences are. We have lots of knowledgeable families at the centre that will be able to help, guide and train you. Moving forward, our new families will also be required to sign up to a role.

Parent helper roles for trial families:
Families currently completing their two-week trial are not required to sign up for a helper role but are encouraged to help where they can.

Age group manager roles:
For clarification, our U8 to U11 age group managers are not only responsible for getting athletes to their next event, they are also responsible for helping the key officials at each event when needed. This might involve marshalling the athletes on the front straight, measuring a throw or raking a pit. Over the coming weeks, they also need to help athletes register their interest in relays.

We are looking forward to seeing all of our athletes at the track on Saturday.
